As a 26 year old married mother I feel this movie was not something I would let a child of an impressionable mind watch it had a rating of PG13 for a reason. However as an adult I was pleased to see sexual contact that did not include actual intercourse. It was interesting to be given an alternate option for being sexual and intimate without showing nudity or having intercourse. Do not forget the two main characters of this film did not consume alcohol and they were not interested in doing so.

Is this where we’ve arrived as Americans? That a high school girl feels embarrassed never to have had an orgasm? And how about the fact that her first orgasm comes (cums?) from sex with another person? Can we talk about that?

This movie wasn’t without its charms, but there’s something odd about it. Would it have been substantively changed by making all of the characters 27 instead of 17? I argue it would not. And that, I think, is kind of a problem.

I’m gonna have to part company with you on this one, film femme. I actually liked this movie, though I did have some problems.

And pretty much a hundred percent of them revolve around the fingerbang scene around plot point two. Holy crap was that weird.

Haven’t read the book, but it’s supposed to be really good. I’m kinda curious how they handle the fingerbang scene…I really feel like I need to quit writing fingerbang.
